There are only 43 days left until Election Day -- and just hours before the first presidential debate. Will you pitch in right now to make sure Donald Trump never becomes President of the United States?
This first debate is one of the most important moments of this campaign so far. There's never been a better time to make sure Hillary knows you're with her.
Diane, you've already given so much of your heart and soul, your time, and your money to electing Hillary and Democrats in November. But there are millions of Americans who will just be starting to pay attention to this race tonight -- one estimate says that as many as 100 million people could be watching this debate.
Now, I'd like to think that more people seeing Donald Trump in action is good news for Democrats. But I have to admit, I'm starting to get a little nervous.
Because we don't know which Donald Trump will show up tonight. It could be the bigot, the misogynist, the man who flies off the handle at the most casual criticism -- the Donald Trump we've come to know all too well for the past year.
Or we could get a version of Donald Trump who's been preparing for this night for weeks, and who's been practicing looking presidential even though we know he couldn't be further from it. If that's the Donald Trump who millions of Americans see for the first time, then things are going to get a bit tricky.
His campaign is already working on lowering the bar so low that it's practically underground. They've even been saying that the simple act of standing still for 90 minutes is enough to declare him the winner. I've done some spinning in my day, Diane, but that's something else.
So we can't take anything for granted. Before Hillary and Trump take the stage, can you pitch in $10 or more to make sure we're ready for whatever comes our away after this debate?
