Stranger than riding a cheetah to White Castle

Sometimes, the truth is stranger than fiction. I say this as someone who has ridden a cheetah part of the way to White Castle -- if I read a script where Donald Trump not only won the Republican nomination for president, but had a real chance of winding up in the White House, I would say it was too unbelievable even by Hollywood standards.

But this could really happen, Diane. That's why we have to do everything we possibly can to make sure we elect Hillary Clinton, my friend Tim Kaine, and progressive members of Congress across the country this November. And that starts with making sure you're registered to vote.

I've had the privilege of playing a lot of great roles in my life, but that doesn't compare to serving in the White House under a guy who has taken steps to offer access to health insurance and doubled funding for Pell grants -- President Barack Obama.

I volunteered for his first campaign way back in 2007. I did that because I had friends serving in Iraq, friends looking for decent jobs, friends who couldn't go to the doctor because they couldn't afford it. I felt that had to change. So I knocked on doors and registered voters. And because people like you did that alongside me, we were able to turn out in record numbers to elect a president who was willing to fight for us every single day to make real change.

We have that opportunity again in electing Hillary Clinton and progressive members of Congress at the state and local level this November. They are going to keep moving the ball forward when it comes to things like college affordability, immigration reform, commonsense gun safety measures like universal background checks, and even better access to health care. It's an opportunity not just to vote against the values of Donald Trump, but an opportunity to vote for the real, progressive agenda for America that we all want to see.

So take a minute to check your registration or register for the first time at IWillVote.com:

Then call your friends. Call some strangers. Volunteer. It's how we're going to win this.

Let's do this,

Kal
