This message from President Obama gave me hope again

Look at what he had to say.

Diane -- Congress needs to pass the Freedom to Vote Act. Our movement has already invested $1 million in pressuring the Senate to pass voting rights legislation while Democrats are in charge.

When President Obama emailed you recently, he said: "As I reflect on the state of our democracy, I'm filled with both concern and hope. Concern because gerrymandering and voter suppression continue to pose a threat. And hope because I believe that, together, we can put power back in the hands of voters where it belongs."

We can accomplish this by passing the Freedom to Vote Act.

Will you pitch in to support our efforts to pass this bill and fight for fair redistricting?

P.S. Below you can check out everything President Obama said about how we can safeguard our democracy.

Friend -- As I reflect on the state of our democracy, I'm filled with both concern and hope. Concern because gerrymandering and voter suppression continue to pose a threat. And hope because I believe that, together, we can put power back in the hands of voters where it belongs.

I know it's the holiday season, so I wouldn't ask unless I really thought it would make a difference:

If you're in a position to do so, will you make a donation to All On The Line right now?

They're in the midst of a campaign to help pass anti-gerrymandering legislation like the Freedom to Vote Act and could use your help fighting for fair districts in Congress and states where redistricting is underway.

This could not be more important.

Right now, Republican politicians in states like Georgia and North Carolina are enacting maps that under-represent marginalized communities, while Republicans in Congress block federal voting rights legislation.

But what gives me hope is that our nation's history is full of people who mobilized, marched, and pressured our government to act. That's how change has happened before, and that's how we can help achieve fair maps and protect the right to vote now.

If you believe in a better vision for our country and want to help safeguard our democracy, will you please consider donating to All On The Line? Any amount will go a long way.

-- Barack Obama
