We'd like to think it has something to do with the NDRC's work to educate voters about the importance of redistricting, prepare them for Republican attempts to gerrymander, and mobilize them to demand fair maps.

The Hill points out the example of Florida, where the NDRC and our affiliate have been on the ground educating and mobilizing citizens for fair maps. Even though Republicans have tried to limit official public input opportunities, Floridians are being louder than ever about the importance of fair maps. Just recently, Florida Senate leaders put out a rare bipartisan call for fair redistricting, and Republicans' initial maps show promise. While there's still a LONG way to go in both Florida and other states, this case shows a great deal of promise for our approach.
