In the past few weeks, Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio, and John Kasich have each released tax plans that they say will help improve our economy. And my team and I have spent a whole lot of time poring over the documents and looking into the details.
But you know what, I'll save you the tedium of reading all three and just tell you right now: They're all bad for American families (except for the very wealthy, of course).
The truth is, these plans are just the same old noise from a Republican Party that's set in its ways -- tax cuts for the rich (and corporations -- let's not forget them!) masquerading as "improvements."
But we know better -- we know that the wealthiest one percent of Americans don't need loopholes and special treatment that helps them grow their wealth, and that big corporations should be paying their fair share. And we also know that under Democrats, the middle class is lifted up and more folks are able to succeed.
So when the rest of the GOP presidential field follows suit with equally weak plans that benefit only the richest people in this country -- not hardworking, middle-class Americans -- we'll know what to do: Continue to support our Democratic candidates with all we've got. We need to keep moving America forward.
Add your name now to say you're ready to elect a Democratic president:
Thank you -- together, we're going to win this thing.
